The brief

North West London Collaboration of CCGs required a bespoke app to drive digital enablement and transformation.

The app would encourage and empower citizens through use of technology, tools and information to connect and assist with their care and wellbeing supporting the aims and ambitions of NWL’s Sustainability & Transformation plans (STP).

The project would help to integrate access to services including online GP appointment booking and hospital appointments.

Our approach

Our team proposed the Health Help Now web and app platform as the best solution to bring digital health tools together all in one place, supporting citizens’ health needs and putting them more in control of their own health.

Health Help Now (HHN) can help users to change how they manage their healthcare services through digital technology. Part of the vision for the product is to help improve access and signposting to the right treatment, working to reduce unnecessary A&E and GP attendances that may be better served by pointing service users to other services in the wider primary care team.

We proposed a project plan with the client, stipulating key milestones and defining the project approach and responsibilities.

The project included individual home screens tailored for each area and conceptualised a design for this and tasked our developer to build this once the client had agreed on the graphics and layout.

Once all of the data had been provided, we began the process of populating the app with content through our content management system (CMS). Once completed, we ran our own internal quality assurance testing before uploading a beta version of the app for our client to preview and make any suggestions they felt were necessary. Once we received feedback on the changes required, we implemented these changes and then released a second beta app for the client to make any final checks on.

Once we’d made any final changes we had the new app signed off by the client and made the app available for the public.

There are so many opportunities ahead to enhance patient experiences through this channel. We really believe it can be a one stop shop for all patient needs.”
